Read the size designation, then check the dimensions
1/1, 1/2, 1/3 and similar designations identify GN size modules. Listed length, width and depth describe the specific product. Check them against the usable equipment opening, supporting edges and clearance below.
Catalogue size reference
GN 1/1: 530 × 325 mm; GN 1/2: 325 × 265 mm; GN 1/3: 325 × 176 mm; GN 1/4: 265 × 162 mm; GN 1/6: 176 × 162 mm; GN 1/9: 176 × 108 mm; GN 2/1: 650 × 530 mm; GN 2/3: 353 × 325 mm; GN 2/4: 530 × 162 mm; GN 1/12: 132 × 108 mm.
These figures provide a size-category reference. Available styles, depths and thicknesses are defined by the actual SKUs in each series.
Modular layouts do not always add up to identical dimensions
For example, 353 mm plus 176 mm along the same direction equals 529 mm—1 mm less than 530 mm. Layout illustrations help explain the footprint relationship. They do not stretch products to matching dimensions and are not a guarantee of installation fit.
Check usable clearance as well as pan depth
Alongside the product data, consider the space below the equipment, the support position and handling clearance. Internal and external dimensions are recorded separately and cannot replace each other.
Check lids separately
A matching GN designation is a starting point. The rim, corners and contact areas of the lid and pan still need to be checked. For use across different styles, confirm against explicit matching information or actual products. A photograph or equal footprint does not establish interchangeability.
What does “approx. height” mean in the image?
Lids do not have the pan-depth value recorded for pans. Where an approximate height is shown, it is estimated from the proportions of the available side-view image to illustrate the profile. It does not replace a measured dimension and should not be used to confirm equipment fit.
For an equipment-fit check, provide three things
- Equipment opening, support position and usable depth;
- Complete SKUs for the required pan and lid;
- Installation photographs or dimensional drawings, with clearance requirements.
